―― What do you feel when you enter Koshien?
N: Because we play baseball, though I may think too much, it is like a dream to be here. Anyway this is Koshien. It was the goal that I looked at first. I think it is the dream place for everyone who plays baseball.
O: Only at Koshien do players bring soil back home after hot games. I thought that this is such a great place. I was not sure if I could stood on this Stadium because this is such a special thing, like “Is it fine for me to put my footprints on it”.

―― It is the 100th anniversary of Summer Koshien.
S: Being the high school baseball players is the ultimate dream of youngsters who play baseball. This is a big goal, the coming year, and the next coming year, youngster aim at this stage, and this has been continuing for 100 rounds.
M: When I was small and played baseball, Koshien for which the older brothers worked their best was my dream. Then before I was aware, the players became of my generation or even younger than me.
A: There are also many coaches who are in our generation. It is unbelievable. But indeed the player of the schools said to be promising candidate schools don’t look like younger than us.
S: Why do they look like adult.
A: They have a great deal of aura.

―― What do you think is the charm of high school baseball?
M: Though this is also for the players, I am more attracted to the plays when I see everyone and families who support the players to their utmost. There are various touching moments such as the great smile and the moment when tear overflows.
A: All people, even those not entering the bench, even the ball boy, are fighting. They fight bravely and desperately for every ball. I am very touched by such appearance.
N: No matter how much the point difference is, no matter how much there is difference on strength, there is moment where the flow would change, this is one of the charms. When I watch such scene, I feel that effort will not disappoint us.

―― Please say a message towards the tournament which is going to begin.
A: After the Koshien, there are people who would become professional players, there are also people who would go to university or go to work. Though the destination would be different, there are things that you could only experience in Koshien. I hope that Koshien would be a dream place to you.
N: This is a place where strong schools come out and win. Though it may be cruel, I think everyone wants to challenge because this place is such a place. We would like to cheer for you all along with our song.
M: This is the dream of high school baseball players who are doing their best, above all, this is also a tournament where the young generation would want to fight here someday, I hope that this stage of dream would never change.
O: It is the 100th anniversary, this is somehow no tournament which has been continuing for such long time.
S: I think this is a great thing to do your best because there is a stage embracing your goals and dreams, I hope you would continue your efforts on this place where you long for. On the contrary, I think that tournament would continue forever.

A: (Being 100th Koshien Special Navigator) Because it was my dream, really, even not with this work, I often come here to watch the tournaments, I love high school baseball. It’s my honour that I have relationship with Koshien in such format.
S: When you said “your dream”, do you mean “you wanted to be a Koshien player”? or “get a work related to Koshien”?
A: Though it was also my dream to appear as a Koshien player, this already couldn’t be achieved.
S: Right, confirmed not to be achieved when you were 18 years old.

M/N: (Dream of being professional baseball player) We did.
M: When I was primary school student, when it was summer break I’ve been watching the games all~ along, and I had a dream “some day I would also be playing baseball here”. I haven’t thought that today I am here not because of playing baseball but because of singing.
N: Indeed~
M: People do change. The dream of people.

Q: Ohno-san.
O: Yes.
Q: Baseball...
M: Please don’t (ask him).
S: This is NG question.
M: You want to ask him anyway?
Q: What do you think about baseball?
O: I have no experience at all.

A: (Chose “Ball” - The thing the five members overcame with baseball) Indeed I feel this the most when I did live, that “We Five are ARASHI”.
S: It’s frequent for Aiba-kun, for me too, the director (of live) is Matsumoto. For instance, when we need to put off one costume to change the atmosphere, I and Aiba-kun very often forget to put off the costume.
A: Right so.
S: When we sing, Matsumoto was like (staring at them and gesturing to put off costume).
M: It’s not like that.

N: (Chose “Hundred” - Thing you want to do for even hundred times) (All giggle)
A: To imagine.
N: Yes. Though the answer is not new at all, for me it’s “playing game”. Why did I get this question...

S: (Chose “Summer” - Members’ summer memory) (Read out the question)
M/A/N: Kawaii~
S: The press release of our debut. It was mid September (1999), we had the debut press release in Hawaii, we appeared in cruiser. One thing or another, it became the very memory of mine~

M: (Chose “Hot” - The passionate side of members) Everyone is really passionate about the various things we really like. For instance, (Leader is) fishing, Nino mentioned game just then, Aiba-kun really likes high school baseball ... (silently look at S)
S: What’s my favourite hobby?
M: ... Journey?
S: I don’t quite have favourite hobby...
M: To go for a journey as planned?
S: Yes...

O: (Chose “Fight” - To fight such enemy)
M: Whom would you fight against?
O: (Murmur) What is it... (All giggle)
N: Let’s go let’s go.
M: Do you want to change the question? Change the card?

O: Fishing (blue heart).
S: How tricky~
O: I got the boat driving license, so my fishing spectrum became wider. I can drive as captain even in private.
S: I see.
Q: For instance ARASHI appeared in cruiser in Hawaii, it’s possible that the cruiser is driven by Ohno-san.
O: I can, I can.
S: This would be great~
A: It’s great~
S: It’s good isn’t it?
M: Let’s buy the cruiser! Let’s buy it!
O: No no no no though I’m not going to buy one...
S: It’d be great isn’t it.
N: You could drive it.

Q: How about making it one of the performance of 20th anniversary!
S: However in the occasion of appearing in cruiser, it’d only be we four appearing on the deck, because Ohno-san is driving (All laugh)

The 55th ARASHI single “Natsu Hayate” is the cheering song of 2018 ABC Summer High School Baseball / theme song of “Nettoh Koshien”.

The composition and lyrics of the song comes from Kitagawa Yujin-shi of “Yuzu”.
With the special collaboration of “ARASHI x Yuzu” coming true,
the song will enliven the Summer Koshien which will welcome its memorable 100th anniversary this summer, as well as the excited games of high school baseball.

MC: This year is the 100th Koshien. What do you think, Ninomiya-san?
N: Right, indeed this 100th Koshien, along with the song, for instance the dramatic memory (during tournament) this year will not vanish. The high-school baseball players will grow up through Koshien, during the class reunion gathered at school, when the song is played, such memory will be raised again… We are also very much looking forward to such meaningful tournament.

MC: Indeed when I interview the high-school baseball player, really their memories and scenes are revived with the theme song, I think it really become an important theme song, what do you think, Ohno-san?
O: Therefore this is a special thing to be standing here, well… Honestly I am confused.
All: (Giggle).
S: Because he doesn’t play baseball~.
O: Right, I am sorry… But this year is the 100th Koshien, I shall cheer for the players.

MC: What was the reaction of members towards Aiba-san was appointed to be the special navigator?
S: We were happy for him. Indeed Aiba-kun has been watching Koshien all along, and we watched it together. Summer… and Spring. At that period of time the rights to choose TV channels goes to Aiba-kun.
A: Right so.
N: He watches it everytime.
A: Yes I’m attached to it.
S: So we were happy that one of our members is able to participate in this memorable 100th Koshien tournament that he loves. In addition, we are grateful to Aiba-san that we are able to sing the theme song. (S, N, O, M bowed to A deeply)
A: No no no.
N: Thanks~

A: No no I’m really happy~, to be able to work on programme about Koshien.

MC: And then, in fact, the high school baseball PR video for the song was just filmed here at Koshien stadium today, right? Sakurai-san, what did you think about the filming?
S: First of all, though it was a nice weather, the moment we five entered the ground I was bit chilly because there was nobody here! I think the spot video would well convey the atmosphere of the song, I enjoyed the filming.
A: That was splendid, when we came here, there was footstep at all.
S: Indeed no footsteps at all.
A: It is the power of Hanshin Engei-san (landscape architecture company responsible for grass management of Koshien). The ground is kept very neat. Nowadays it’s also rare to put natural grass on ground.

MC: Yes so, really so. By the way, is it the first time for you all to stand on the Koshien stadium like this?
A: Well~ we were also here during the 80th tournament……
MC: Ah, back dancers?
A: Yes, as back dancers, we all, right? We all, right?
S: Yes yes, we did. (M & N also responded)
A: We did.
S: Leader……
O: …… I am no idea.
All: (Giggle).
A: What is “you have no idea”? You didn’t remember it at all……
S: We went here when we were back dancers in Johnny’s Jr. time.
MC: Ohno-san, what do you think about this Koshien that you might have come here the first time and have come here before.
O: I feel … good, about having our footsteps on the stadium. Though I am bit concerned whether it’s fine to have our footsteps here.

MC: This PR video will be broadcast through Aurora Vision at Koshien here during the tournaments, if you come to Koshien, you would watchi it in between the tournaments, at the bottom of the fifth inning, before and after the tournaments.
A: Eh? Really? It will be broadcast?

A: Uwa~ Marvellous.
MC: This video is scheduled to be OA on 1 Jun, everyone please look forward to it. Right, Aiba-san. It will be broadcast.
A: It will be broadcast between the tournaments?
MC: Yes it will. Also at the bottom of the fifth inning……
A: Yes. Also between the first and second tournament?
MC: Yes. Everyone in the stadium will have good chance of watching it.
A: It’s bit embarrassing (giggle) …… No no, I am honoured.
MC: This time Aiba-san will also have many works here, I think there would be lots of chances that you watch the video.

MC: And then one more thing, this year is the historical 100th Summer High School Baseball tournament. There will be many projects exciting this summer, while Aiba-san will be the special navigator of this memorable tournament.
A: Yes.
MC: Please convey your enthusiasm again.
A: I see. This Koshien Stadium really embrace many sweats and tears. Just when Player Ohtani (Shohei) (of Major League Angels) pitched when he was in Year 2. Because all players really fight their utmost for this tournament with various memories, I shall also cheer to my utmost and enliven the programmes.
MC: Do other members cheer for you?
A: Ah, cheer for me?
MC: Yes to Aiba-san.
S: To Aiba-san!?
MC: Excuse me, though I want to hear about your cheers to the high-school baseball players afterwards, first of all please tell me your cheers to Aiba-san.
N: Well but, I think this is not cheering. Because he really looks forward to it every year. This year he is connected with the tournament in the form of work, I think he would not change his passion and work to his utmost.
A: I shall buy you souvenir!
N: Thanks!
MC: How about Sakurai-san?
N: About cheering to Aiba-san, excuse me.
A: Please cheer for me.

M: First of all, I think there are only a few schools which can come to the tournaments of Koshien, they are here to show the results of their effort which they have really paid a great deal of during the three years of high school study…… I think we are not capable of carrying such great effort, anyhow, I hope that everyone will have a joyful and summer with no regret. Please try best!
O: Right. Though to win or to lose is a big thing, this tournament is once for a life time…… I hope that this would be a play which the players would not forget in their lives, and will not forget the passionate feelings. Well…… though I don’t know baseball actually.
A: (Giggle). It’s fine you don’t tell us. You need not bother about this (giggle).
O: Is it fine? But just then, just by watching (the tournament video) I got goosebumps. Indeed I hope to watch the tournaments and cheer for the players this time. Please try best.
A: Well~ I am really……
S: Aiba-san, it’s fine you are the last to comment.

N: Eh~ (giggle). Right. S: Right so~ around 10 years ago, my alma mater participated in Koshien, I also went here to watch the tournament over there. Soccer = Kokuritsu Stadium, rugby = Higashiosaka Hanazono Rugby Stadium, and then baseball = Koshien, I think these stadiums are the sacred places for these sports. I remembered that I was overwhelmed by the existence of this sacred place, including the regional tournaments it was really tough to come to the tournament here, I hope that they would try their best...... And when I came here today, once again I think about everyone who comes here for cheering. Like the brass band. I played trombone when I was a child, it is really hot when you play brass instruments outdoors.
