17.02.27 ARASHI “Japan GD Award” first-in-history 5th-time No.1 sales, SMAP awarded in Album Cat.

The awards on works and artists of “31st Japan Gold Disc Award 2017” were announced, popular idol group・ARASHI was awarded “Artist of the Year” in Japanese Music Category for consecutively the third year with its highest net sales amount in CD, music video, paid music distribution in the past year. In total it is the first artist in history to be awarded this award for five times [2010, 2011, 2015, 2016, 2017]. The “Album of the Year”, indicating the largest number of sales of album, was awarded to “SMAP 25 YEARS”, the last album of SMAP which disbanded last new year’s eve.

According to the Recording Industry Association of Japan, during 1 January 2016 to 31 December 2016, ARASHI recorded a sales of 879,140 albums, 2,199,436 singles, and 1,269,802 music videos. The album “Are You Happy?” was awarded “Best 5 Albums” (Japanese music), while the two works “ARASHI LIVE TOUR 2015 Japonism” and “ARASHI BLAST in Miyagi” were awarded “Best Music Video” (Japanese music), totally ARASHI was awarded 4 BESTs this year.

Thanks a lot for supporting us all along! We owe this honour to every one of you. With the latest album titled “Are You Happy?”, the arena tour since nine years ago ‘“Japonism”Show in ARENA’ started in April, and the five dome tour “LIVE TOUR 2016-2017 Are You Happy?” from November etc., we have been feeling close with fans throughout the year, it was a very Happy year to ourselves. And this year too we shall do our best to deliver a lot of Happy through our works as well as media and stage!!

The “Album of the Year” was awarded to the last album of SMAP, the Best Album for debut 25th anniversary “SMAP 25 YEARS”. The album was the only Japanese music album released last year which achieved million sales record.

2／23 updated! Today is about Master in the episode about skateboard・Player Seijiri Ryo.

First of all… Master’s reminiscing MV.
Master said that he had no memory of playing skateboard… staff searched for it.
Master did play it didn’t it!! Moreover he failed didn’t it!!
Master. Staff are always doing revision. We try our deadly best to search for the precious videos!
While Master himself… said… though it failed that MV clip was frequently used…

Moreover, since the skate cut was short.. the part before that was also used.
So Ninomiya-san also appeared on screen, this was somewhat luxurious~~.

And then.. Master who challenged again the “Ollie” which he failed in MV.
However… his ankle was hit… that was not going to be an easy thing…
But! I think it was splendid just by riding on it. I was not able to keep a balance…

During Player Seijiri’s MV performance I saw the Master-ness.
During the work meeting, we told Master that he could freely perform that part,
he talked to Fujimori-san and made it a vivid part.
It was the first time for Fujimori-san to be supporter and [Master] wanted to liven him up
I was able to get a glimpse of his causal kindness.
To be able to express such consideration for others smoothly is Master’s charm.
“He is kind~~” I murmured in my heart.

Regarding Tokyo Olympics Player Seijiri talked about his unsettled mind, Master also went through that conversation with kindness,
and gave feedback from the perspective of audience.
In response to Player Seijiri who frankly talked about his unsettled feeling,
Master followed the conversation saying that to participate in it is not at all a bad thing?
Finally, as for Olympics, I seemed to hear … do your best?
While it was not a compulsion, as the representative of audience Master expressed the thought to Player Seijiri.
