The awards on works and artists of “31st Japan Gold Disc Award 2017” were announced, popular idol group・ARASHI was awarded “Artist of the Year” in Japanese Music Category for consecutively the third year with its highest net sales amount in CD, music video, paid music distribution in the past year. In total it is the first artist in history to be awarded this award for five times [2010, 2011, 2015, 2016, 2017]. With the latest album titled “Are You Happy?”, the arena tour since nine years ago ‘“Japonism”Show in ARENA’ started in April, and the five dome tour “LIVE TOUR 2016-2017 Are You Happy?” from November etc., we have been feeling close with fans throughout the year, it was a very Happy year to ourselves. And this year too we shall do our best to deliver a lot of Happy through our works as well as media and stage!!
The “Album of the Year” was awarded to the last album of SMAP, the Best Album for debut 25th anniversary “SMAP 25 YEARS”. The album was the only Japanese music album released last year which achieved million sales record.
