“Entertainment, music, painting, work of art. I frequently visit art museums en voyage”

“Beethoven. I want to see how his life was like, and how he composed music”

“Robot. I am interested in how it becomes common in our daily lives”

“When I work on live production I dream a lot about live. I dreamed that I was
unable to do something, or I couldn’t dance at all (giggle)”

“Running”

【16】What is your relaxing moments?
“When I add water into humidifier”

【17】Who senpai have you met frequently recently?
“Nagase (Tomoya)-kun. We both are interested in watch, when I spend time with people with this common interest Nagase-kun comes to join us, when Nagase-kun is with those people I also go to join them”

“Kazama (Shunsuke)”

【19】What you encounter people what do you care about?
“I think about what tension he/she wants to see”

【20】What habit do you have?
“I touch my face a lot”

【21】What thing others say that will make you happy?
“‘That, I saw that’”

【22】What did you feel touched in 2016?
“For my solo during the live, though I showed the photos of my intimate friends and companies, I have thought about not doing that because someone might
not like that. But everyone replied quickly ‘please feel free to show them’, I
once again felt the gratitude towards such connection”

【23】What was the unfinished business in 2016?
“Just in terms of ‘unfinished’, I haven’t watched Aiba-san hosting Kouhaku”

【24】Do you give New Year Pocket Money to others?
“This year I gave New Year Pocket Money to the child of an acquaintance of mine”

【25】Do you make offering at temple with paper note or coin?
“I offer unwrinkled banknote”

【26】What was Aiba-san in 2016.
“Until Kouhaku, though there is still some time to it, meanwhile, I want to
watch over him on how he would pass his time (giggle)”

“An Academy Award-winning actor is born from our group, I think this is splendid”

“He worked hard. No matter TV drama or movie, we really worked with very similar schedule”

“He sent photos to members from Rio, and bought us souvenirs”

16.12.29 Koukaku Rehearsal - White Team Host Aiba Masaki “doesn’t feel relieved”

　An interview was done with Red Team Host, actress Arimura Kasumi, White Team Host, ARASHI’s Aiba Masaki, and the Mediator Takeda Shinichi Announcer.

　Aiba who has been Host - as a member of ARASHI - for five times, regarding playing the big role alone this time, he directly made us to laughter with “It is totally different from hosting together with ARASHI members. Sakurai (Sho) always handled the different situation. Though I have hosted Kouhaku for five times, what I have done didn’t even add up to one year’s worth of hosting work”.

　When asked about Aiba’s Kanji of this year he reflected “Is it not ‘surprise’ (驚). Can’t believe [I’m hosting] this New Year Eve’s event. Though I have first heard about this offer around one week before the announcement of host”. He surprised the reporters until the end by saying “I don’t feel relieved!” with a very playful smile.

　And, Arimura chose “Challenge” (挑) as the Kanji of this year with “This year I have challenged many things”. She looked back this year with “I started acting as lead actress for the first time in Monday 21:00 TV drama of commercial broadcaster, in movie I played various roles, morning TV drama, and then I conclude this year with Kouhaku, I have tried these new things continuously this year. I think that this year was like going round and round”.

16.12.29 Koukaku Rehearsal - ARASHI’s Aiba “wants to hold the victory flag” & gave “advice” to Arimu

　ARASHI’s Aiba Masaki is going to work alone as White Team Host for the first time, when asked about “rivalry mind” towards Red Team Host actress Arimura Kasumi, he claimed that “I think I shall not lose”. He revealed the reason “I have been working as Host for five times thus far, but I haven’t touched the victory flag for once when White Team won. Leader (Ohno Satoshi) always held the flag, I hoped it would come to me but it didn’t, so I want to hold it this time”.

　The two hosts had co-acted in TV drama, Aiba said with smile “I strongly want to win” while “but, I also want to get along with [Arimura-san]”. Arimura said with shining eyes “Though I also don’t want to lose, but… it would be great to have fun”.

　As “senpai” in hosting work, Aiba gave advice to Arimura “though it may be trivial, it would be great if you’d take care of your meal time”. Further, Arimura was nervous about changing many clothes and worried that “I have to finish the cloth changing in five minutes”, Aiba replied with confidence “Five minutes is enough. ARASHI level is finishing cloth changing in one minute”.

16.12.28 ARASHI Are You Happy? Live Tour - Masaki’s Backflip

Masaki failed backflip in solo “Amore”.
He got up immediately and took a second try, and failed.
During encore Nino hinted it and created a setting for Masaki to take revenge.
Members helped fix the corners of the mat for safety.
Nino helped take away the shoes Masaki put off.
Masaki hit his heart with his right fist before the backflip.
Masaki succeeded.
Members and audience applauded.
Jun took Masaki’s hand up.
Masaki moved the mat to backstage himself.
