Looking back the steps of ARASHI×TV Guide!!
TV Guide Weekly 55th Anniversary issue!
ARASHI five members appear on the cover of this memorial issue.
This issue is about the anniversary,
The jacket style was red which was the colour of TV Guide.
The photography was also taken place with the red image.
ARASHI firstly appeared on the cover in the November issue of 2000,
they made again the gravure of running pose of that issue.
Seeing the cover of that time in the form of panel,
Sakurai-san commented on Ohno-san’s lively pose as “very smart” without second thought (giggle).
Everyone worked hard to copy their own pose of that cover perfectly,
they fine-tuned their movement,
and finally made a photo with high resemblance of the cover in the past.
On the magazine the gravure of that time will be posted as well,
please do compare when you read them.
And then the eye-catching corner was to made the big logo cake of TV Guide!
On the very red cake, they used whipped cream to write “TV Guide ARASHI”.
When staff told them what to do in this corner,
Sakurai-san proposed that “Ohno-san writes the character “ARASHI” most beautifully, isn’t it?”.
Ohno-san also smiled with a sense of realisation.
While Ninomiya-san said “Then we each write a word”,
naturally the four members other than Ohno-san started their rock-paper-scissors game.
And then the result of the game was in such order Aiba-san → Matsumoto-san → Sakurai-san → Ninomiya-san.
Ninomiya-san said to Aiba-san who was the first to write “you can write two characters”,
Matsumoto-san said “Well? You write ‘T’ and ‘V’? (giggle)” there was such interesting occasion too.
First of all, Aiba-san who tried to adjust where to put “TV Guide” and “ARASHI” in balance by his hands.
“I think ‘TV Guide’ can be big” (Matsumoto-san)
“If ‘TV Guide’ is not big it’ll be difficult to write ‘ARASHI’ then?” (Ninomiya-san)
Having got advice from the surrounding, finally Aiba-san put in whipped cream on the cake!
And then, the other members commented “Oh, you are good at this! You are very good at this aren’t you” “It’s good it’s good”.
Watching Aiba-san squeezing the cream,
Ninomiya-san made fun “You did put a lot effort squeezing the cream, is the cream hard?”,
Aiba-san replied “Um, not it isn’t it isn’t”.
The logo was made in good pace, finally it came to Ohno-san who wrote “ARASHI”,
Suddenly the other four members put Ohno-san in the middle in said “Sensei please!” “Sensei!”.
“It can’t be wrong, it’s tough~” Ninomiya-san put pressure on him by saying so,
while he wrote the word silently and steadily.
Matsumoto-san saw that the whipped cream was decreasing,
and said “Sensei, let’s change to this one” and brought out the second batch of cream,
while Sakurai-san assisted Ohno-san in closing the cap of the first batch.
On the side Aiba-san said heartily “It’s skillful~, indeed”.
Finally “ARASHI” was wrote to an extent of completeness that one would not think that it was written by cream,
the other four members praised Ohno-san “You are skillfull~!”.
On the magazine there was plentiful coverage of how the logo cake was made,
Please have fun while thinking about the situation they made the cake!
In addition, there were solo interviews about TV and themselves,
and group talk based on the memories about 10 years ago,
also there was playback corner posting the magazines in the past.
Plenty of contents will be delivered!
Furthermore, the series “Weekly VS ARASHI Guide” of this issue was responsible by Ohno-san and Sakurai-san.
As a corner named after the 55th anniversary,
they challenged a quiz of rearranging the magazine covers of ARASHI according to the year of issue.
An unpredictable development of who won the quiz!?
The TV Guide 55th anniversary project started from the 4th.
This issue which is the just issue,
Johnny’s artists (KinKi Kids-san, V6-san, Kanjani Eight-san, Hey! Say! JUMP-san,
Kis-My-Ft2-san, Sexy Zone-san, A.B.C-Z-san, Johnny’s WEST-san, Nagase Tomoya-san, Yamashita Tomohisa-san, Kamenashi Kazuya-san, Koyama Keiichiro-san) and,
special people who appeared on various covers thus far,
have sent through their congratulatory messages.
Thanks to all the readers so that we can continue for 55 years.
