Kikkoman Corporation appointed Matsumoto Jun-san as the new CM character of the “Kikkoman Uchi-no-Gohan Osozai-no-Moto” series. From 24 March onwards, the new CM “Vegetable is delicious. Cabbage sesame” CM will be O.A. country-wide.
The “Kikkoman Uchi-no-Gohan Osozai-no-Moto” series is a Japanese vegetable seasoning series which use “domestic vegetable stock” and by adding familiar ingredients and using frying pan a dish can be made easily. It is praised for its gentle taste resembling homemade family taste and the convenience that a dish can be made with it in short time. It was launched in market in 2002, and it is its 15th anniversary this year.
This time, Matsumoto Jun-san who is appointed to be the new CM character is a member of national popular group “ARASHI”, and is active in many movies and TV drama. As a tenderly and emotionally rich character he gains popularity in a wide range of generation, and fits to deliver the image of “bright, fortunate dining table” depicted from “Uchi-no-Gohan” series, so he is appointed the new CM character.

In the CM, Matsumoto-san stands in a real kitchen with a set up to film how he finishes the “fried cabbage with sesame miso”. He conveyed the “sizzle-ness” of the convenience of being able to make dish easily with “Uchi-no-Gohan”, and the good taste of “domestic vegetable stock” favouring the deliciousness of cabbage

During Matsumoto-san cutting the cabbage, using the frying pan, and serving the dish, the camera did not stop in the middle, a “long take” was taken. In contrast to the “serious” facial expression of Matsumoto-san who fits the kitchen with his sleeves rolled up, his performed the cooking vividly. It took around nine minutes for the director to say “Cut!”. Relaxing from nervousness the staff clapped hands and applauded.

During the filming the real “Uchi-no-Gohan” was used, I was surprised that the dish can be made easily with it. I favour the deliciousness of vegetable, and also the gentle taste. Everyone please do make dish with it and taste it too.
