※ Backstage of press conference
First of all, yesterday noon I contacted Ohno. I told him no matter what happened, I shall definitely follow him, I hope that he would feel relieved for the press conference. He replied “thank you”.
The press conference was 20:00, 30 minutes before that, I had a word with my four members, that this is finally the kick-off. Until 31 December 2020, let us firmly arm around our shoulders, unite more than ever and try our best.
As for right before the press conference, we while right before the concerts, or right before the performance at the music programmes, each member will look at each other member and shake hands with each member, and go to performance saying “OK, let’s go”. It was the same that before this press conference, right before we go on stage, we shook hands with each other member, saying “let’s go”.
Because in the press conference we were only to convey the particulars of the incident and our present feelings, while the meaning of this shaking hands was different from the one done in concert, I think that we shook hands with the same feeling of “OK, let’s go”.
We conveyed what we wanted to convey during the press conference. I was thinking during the press conference that, while I also talked about this a bit yesterday, considering the feelings of each of our fans and the feelings of the staff around us now, while I hoped that this day would not come, at the same time, since we decided this in June last year, at last I could convey it, it was a complex feeling.

And we said “well, if Ohno is fine with this, we’re fine with this”.
From June 2017 to present, though my emotion flickered, as you said, because ARASHI is not ARASHI if one is missing, though everyone was flickering, somehow we had to avoid this feeling and land on a place where we all agree, and I thought that this was probably my role.
