However, the conditions in the case of meeting family members and friends and in the case of meeting with lawyers are considerably different.

Firstly, when meeting common people such as family members and friends, a police officer would be in the meeting as witness.

Furthermore, while there is difference between different prefectures, the time and number of meeting is restricted.

For instance, there are restrictions that
・The meeting is from 10:00 until 16:00 in workdays,
・Time is 15 minutes,
・There is one meeting for one group of people in one day.

And then, when there is risk of escape and destruction of evidence, the court would issue order forbidding the meeting, there are various restrictions.

On the other hand, there is almost no restriction in the case of meeting lawyers.

・There was no police officer as witness, there is only conversation between the suspect and the lawyer,
・Basically meeting can be held 24 hours, even on weekends, holidays, and late nights.
・Even if an order forbidding the meeting is issued, the suspects can still meet with the lawyers.
These arrangements are widely accepted.

The meeting in such way is the system to protect the suspects who are not yet judged guilty.
For that reason, the suspects can have discussion with the lawyers with no one listening to it.

However, this time, after the lawyer left, during the gap when no one saw him, he seemed to have made an attempt to escape.

In fact, it is said that the structure and oldness of the visiting rooms is greatly different depending on police stations.
