Kouenji Sensei is nicknamed “Ko Sensei”. He was born and grows up in Kagurazaka. After graduated from veterinary university, he worked in an animal hospital as hospital physician, and then returned to his home and opened “Sakanoue Animal Clinic” in Kagurazaka. He looks weak at a glance but he has trustworthy capability, and he has a kind heart. He calls the dogs and cats coming to the clinic “Shippo” with love. To the “Shippos” who cannot speak, he has the talent to get close to their hearts, with his experience as hospital physician, he becomes the unique existence as the doctor of the animals in the town.

Tatsuya acted by Aiba-san is the vet of “Sakanoue Animal Clinic” in Kagurazaka. Quitting from animal hospital and returning home, he works under vet Tokumaru Sensei, suddenly Tokumaru Sensei leaves the clinic to Tatsuya and disappears. Tatsuya, while feeling puzzled, stays in the clinic and deepens his connection with the people in Kagurazaka. Tatsuya who is soon called “Ko Sensei” continues to work best as vet protecting the lives of the pets precious to the people in Kagurazaka.

Kind and with promising capability -- Ko Sensei is such an ideal vet.

While I was told to act in this drama, wondering what story it was, I quickly read the original comics. While there are also stories related to vet such as “animal end-of-life care”, the human drama parts depicting the connection between people is also impressive, I think this is a touching and very splendid story. I very much look forward to acting in it and how the story would be in the TV drama.
The Ko Sensei I act is a very humane person. He is a kind person who stays close to the animals and their owners. There are many senior ladies around Ko Sensei, because I also have many senior female relatives, I sort of feel empathic with his feeling of being played around by ladies (giggle).
Since there would be one operation scene in each episode, I am making preparation before crank in including practicing such techniques and creation of role.

To me pets are my family members. When I was a child I had a dog, it was the first time I experienced “death” when he died. Because this taught me that life has its end, it was an unforgettable experience to me even now.

I am very happy and honoured to be back to Friday Night Drama where I started my drama leading act. “Boku to Shippo to Kagurazaka” is a warm story, I hope that this drama would warm everyone’s Friday nights up.
